Saturday is a special Day! It's the day we get ready for Sunday!
Well my girls aren't too excited about getting ready for Sunday with all the cleaning that we need to do today before we head off at 1 pm to see Beauty and the Beast, but we will see what we can get done. Steve is with the youth today at the temple, but he should be home around 12:30. Just in time for all of us to get to the play in time. Thank goodness we are only 3 blocks from where it takes place!
So our list of things to do today is to clean up the living room, kitchen, and the play room. I would so love to get all the laundry put away but that is asking a lot in 4 hours with showers and doing the girls hair too. I know my limits!
The best way that I found to get my girls to help out is to make them a list with pictures! Some how it works with them getting them to check things off! Oh the power of a list!
I still have to get homework done too for Chemistry, but at least it isn't pressure any more since I have enough points to get my full 20% credit for the homework. There really is a lot to do, but I have found it really does help in class.
I guess that I should get going so that I can get these lists done for the kids and hopefully I will be able to get my happy helpers soon. Gotta make those check lists and I think that Beauty and the Beast is a great reward for working hard today!!!

My Valentine's Weekend
Well my Valentine's weekend wasn't what I wanted, but that is okay too. The party was awesome and little did I know that would start my weekend of sleep! I was so sick after the party that I went right to bed. The next morning I thought I was feeling better but I wasn't. Emily and Danny were in town so I had to get myself out of bed, so I can take the opportunity to see them. We live so much closer now than before, but it still isn't enough time some times. That Saturday was one of them. I loved lunch at Jefferson's but I knew that those fries were going to be coming back up before the day was over. Emily wasn't feeling all that great either, so our visit was cut short by Danny who knew that we both just needed to crawl back into our beds!
The rest of the day was spent on the couch and revisiting my loaded fries. I did get to listen to lots of the Winter Olympics and the luge made me sick from all the shots they were showing. I did manage to sleep all that night too and was still not feeling well on Valentine's Day morning. The girls were so happy to give me these awesome butterflies that Steve found as an idea on the computer. The older girls each made me one and it was so great! I love that Steve would take the time to help the girls with a craft than go to the store to buy a gift.
I felt so bad that I needed to stay home from church and stay on the couch to get some more rest. I wasn't feeling up to doing much else anyway. The three hours of quiet were a blessing and a gift from Steve. I really needed the rest and the quiet. It still took all I had to get lunch ready for the family to be ready when they got home from church. It was the least that I could do since I was the one that stayed home right? Everyone loved lunch and in the evening I was finally feeling like I was getting reintroduced to the world.
The kids went to bed early and that was a great gift from them, so that Steve and I could celebrate Valentine's together. Earlier in the week I had gotten Julie and Julia from netflix, so we decided to watch that. It was a great movie and we laughed a lot! I love that we had time to watch a movie together because it has been a long time since we had a movie night.
Monday I was feeling a little bit better and Steve decided that it was laundry day. Yes we did have a whole lot to do, but why spend $50 to do laundry when we could go buy a used washer and just get it done at home?? We found a great place in Anniston and we picked up a washer for $150! I still needed a nap that afternoon when Steve went back to pick it up, but we got laundry done. I have forgotten how nice it is to do laundry at home without having to haul all of it down to the laundromat, but stay at home and just get it done. My new goal is to get caught up with laundry first and then do a small load every night from what we have worn during the day and put it away in the morning. Every day and get it done. We will see how it goes and in my perfect world it will get done! I guess that for Valentine's it is okay to buy your wife an appliance especially when she is sick and the hubby gets to do all the laundry first!
It sure wasn't a weekend of love from me to my husband, but he sure went over the top in showing me how much he loves me! From crafts to watching the kids, to laundry, to emptying my throw up bowl, to letting me get the rest that I needed, and to taking the kids to church all by himself! I know he loves me! I love you Steve and maybe one day I can make it up to you! Thank you so much for showing me all the love this weekend.

That's 60s Murder
Our Snowy Valentine's Weekend started on Friday with That 60s Murder. We finally had some snow in Alabama and of course on a day that we had planned our party, but that is okay. Everyone still had a great time and the party was fun. The music set the mood and the 60s outfits were great. I knew that these murder mystery parties were fun, but next time I don't want to be sick. By the end of the night the mystery was solved, my feet hurt from those HUGE platform shoes, and I had no voice!
In all I think that Steve had the best costume and I really would not have known him unless I watched him get ready for 2 weeks with his hair growth!!!
I guess I will have to get Steve to fill in all the details of the night because I was like a clock that was just about dead. I just kept moving slower and slower. I think that everyone had a great time! I can't wait to do it again in the summer with a different theme and to host it for the Youth at church :-)

The Study Gods were Very Nice
I guess that I passed my test of being distracted before my 2 tests last week. I came in with an 82 on my American Lit test. I am really happy with it since there were only 5 A's and 8 B's for the class. There are 32 of us in class and 13 people got F's! The low score was a 30, so I am really happy with that B of mine! I just missed some points because I didn't answer enough and not because I didn't know the material.
Now my Chem test took until today to get back. I sure was nervous while she was handing back tests, since all I was seeing were D's! Of course my test is one of the last tests given back and low and behold it was an A!!!! There it was in red ink! That 92/100!!! Yes, I did it like in the movies and quietly left the room and the building and went outside to do the happy dance :-) Steve didn't answer so I called my mom! I just had to tell someone the good news.
Well now it is back to the books. I need to keep ahead and keep up with the good grades.

The Day the Study Gods Had A Conference
Today was going to go like this...You know the normal day. Get up and get the kids ready for school. Come home and have a bite to eat while Katy watches Monsters Inc and then I can get to studying for my TWO tests tomorrow. None of which are the easiest of subjects, but in my classes of American Lit and Chemistry. Then after a few hours of studying and a quiet child at home it should be time to get Ruby from school. Make lunch. My children would be perfect and then I could return to my books to study. Soon it would be 3:30 and Hannah would get home. I could take her to the gym for her gymnastics class and study some more. Come home to a spaghetti dinner with warm bread already made. My children would still be amazing and let me study some more and go to bed at 8 pm with no problems, yelling, or whining. Yes that would be my day in a 'perfect' world, but it went more like this.
See the Study Gods had a conference well before my day even began today. They decided that they were going to throw a few kinks into my perfect study day. It began with taking Steve to the doctor for his sinuses. He hasn't been feeling well and is to the point of he needs to go to the doctor. Well at 8:00 when I had taken the older girls to school, it was time to go to the doctor's office. The wait was an average one of one hour. Not too bad and I took my Literature note cards, so I was getting a little bit of studying in there. The appointment went well. Check on the sinus problem and check on a few other things. She wants to give Steve a few shots of antibiotic so we can be on our way. Hahaha.....little did I know. He gets his shots. One in each butt cheek and seems fine. We get to the lobby to wait and no sooner do I glance at the clock and to check when we can get out of there, I find Steve on my lap. Completely passed out! I mean all gone and ain't responding. Of course when this happens there is no one in the window. Why would there be?? the study gods have planned this to keep me away from my books!
Finally there was someone there. I needed help and it sure as heck didn't come very fast. By this time Steve had woke up for a few seconds and he wanted to lay down on the floor. Great. I was still trying to keep him awake. The nurse finally gets out to the waiting room and goes to get a wheel chair. Steve was okay to get into it and then the study gods laughed!!!!
Steve pulled a Looney Toons move when we got him into his wheel chair. He literally melted out of the thing, was white as a sheet, was posturing, and his eyes were dilated! He wasn't responding to anything at all. I am the one taking care of him while they go to get the doctor. That seemed like forever and I managed to lay him down. It was scary and reminded me of looking into Hannah's eyes when she was having a night terror. She was looking at me, but she wasn't looking at me. There was nothing there in her eyes. Yes, I was a freaking out but trying to keep it all together. My limited tv med school does come into play. I took my fist and rubbed as hard as I could on his chest just to get a response because this whole time he was not breathing! Finally a cough and some of his color comes back. It still took a few more minutes of having him sit there and trying to get him breathing, coughing, and anything to help out.
The study gods laughed again and said we are keeping you here for a few more hours because we know you want to study. Steve did manage to give his work number and his bosses number so that they knew he wasn't going to be on the phone today. He doesn't remember any of that by the way! We finally left at 10:30 for home. Short trip to the doctors office my foot!
Steve was still super dizzy when we got home and he went to bed for some sleep. I kept checking on him every 15 minutes to make sure he was still with me. Just about the time I get home with Steve, one of the girls from my class comes over to 'study' with me for our 2 tests tomorrow. Well needless to say I really wasn't in the mood to think about chem or lit at this point. I do feel really bad that I didn't help out very much. I hope she doesn't think that I am a total freak but really how do you concentrate with everything that has conspired in the last few hours??
I get Ruby from school and while I was gone, Steve managed to get up once to use the bathroom and puke! Oh great one more thing. Yes, I can still hear the powers that be laughing in the distance. Steve was out for the count for a few more hours. I am thinking at this time I might be able to get something done, but no! I get a phone call from Hannah's teacher that she isn't feeling well. She doesn't want to come home, but she is running a fever. So off I go to the elementary school to get Hannah. She still wants to go to the book fair and then I am checking her out. I totally understand why she doesn't want to go home. She has gymnastics after school! She can't be sick for that right??
After I get home from getting her (and making a side trip to Bruce and Crystal's house to tell them about a few issues) I get home. Steve is up and about and is looking like he is coming back to the land of the living! I take Hannah to the gym because she will not take a no for practice. I did stop at Sonic for a Route 44 Dr. Pepper. I thought I deserved a drink after this morning and it was during Happy Hour, so I don't feel bad at all!
Hannah has a 2 hour practice, so at least I got some of the problems done for chemistry. My mind is so not on these tests any more. I am done and my brain is fried!!! Hannah did okay in her 2 hour class, but not as well as she could have with not feeling well. I even asked her a few times if she wanted to go, but no she was going to stay. Great! Got a little more done.
I make my way home and start dinner. The little girls took a late nap, so yes the Study Gods were having a good laugh again because they knew that my girls would now be up late and no time to study. Oh well like I said before my brain was shot!
So here I sit in front of my computer, writing my blog entry for the day. Thinking about how scared I was this morning and how much I love my husband! I guess my day could have been worse right??
The one thing that I did make me smile today was when Steve finally woke up from his very long nap. Katy was there in our room and she needed to talk to her dad. This is what was said in Katy's very authoritative 2 year old voice. "Daddy you scared me today. You were in Mommy's lap and then on the floor. Then you fell out of your chair. I sat with the nice lady because you scared me." All Steve could say was that he was sorry. Hey it summed up how I felt today too. I just wish I had gotten to sit with the nice lady that held my daughter's hand while she was scared.
All in all the Study gods threw me for a loop today. I just hope that all the hours that I have already put into my studies will help me out tomorrow. It sure would have been nice to get a little more studying in today, but there were other things that needed to be done I guess. Maybe the Study gods will be nice tomorrow and help me out. I will let you all know in the next installment of "House Full of Hormones".
