You know it's cold when.......

Okay...here is my top 10 list of you know it's cold in your house when.....

10. The dogs do a dog pile on you just to keep warm.

9. The kids are more than willing to get ready to go to church because it is 3 hours of warmth.

8. You wish that you were not in your new house but back where you used to live so that you could go bum at a friends house for the day.

7. The excuse to make chocolate chip cookies is not for a treat but a reason to heat up the oven!! Only to leave it open after you are done making a 'warm' treat!!

6. You are jealous of your husband for going to work because you know he will be warm there for the next EIGHT HOURS!!

5. You play the how many layers of clothes can I get my kids into before they can't move anymore.

4. You don't have to worry if you accidentally leave out the milk because it will still be cold when you get back to it. Much less the ice cubes!!

3. When you have 3 electric space heaters in your living room and they don't keep up. the heat is frozen before it gets out.

2. When you find yourself putting an episode of Grey's Anatomy on your iPod so that you can watch it in your somewhat warm bed at night instead of freezing by the computer.

1. you will put off taking a shower for as long as you need because you know that you have to get naked when it's only 50 in your house!!!

okay.....this is my attempt at making humor from our wonderful situation of no heat in the house. The furnace has been our since thursday and temps have been right above 50 the whole time. It is so cold and they had to order a new part for the furnace of course. Now I am the one that is sick today. I just want a little warmth for my family. The only good thing is that it does keep the kids in one place. They are too cold to move anywhere. It has been a watch TV weekend for us. Oh well. Well I guess that I need to go bundle up some more.

The World of Standing.....

Katy is just over 8 months old and she is standing!! I am so excited, but in a way kinda sad. She isn't that baby that is content to sit there and play with toys any more. She wants to be a BIG girl and get around with the other kids. So here are a few pictures for you to see. Aren't those three teeth that she has so cute too?? I can see the outline of 6 teeth. Yes, 6 teeth on top that are just sitting there. I am just waiting for all of those to come in all at the same time.

my ju ju be design idea for fall

I call it the BeSquared. It could easily be changed up with different colors. I just thought that fall colors would be nice!! Just thought that you girls would want to see. Is this something that you like??

Getting Around to being Tagged.....

Well I don't know how long ago I was tagged, but I know that a few people have tagged me. I think that I am supposed to write 10 random facts about me!! We will see how this goes......

1. I have learned that most things can be done while you nurse a baby. I blog, eat, read, sleep, correct my kids, talk on the phone, the list could go on and on. I never at the start would have thought I could do so much with a baby connected to me!!

2. My new favorite show is Grey's Anatomy. I know, I know where have I been for the last THREE years, but at least I discovered it right??? (I really have been in the world of LOST and have been Lost for 3 years. Forgive me!)

3. I love the fact that Steve is willing to sacrifice his early mornings to go work out, but I LOVE that I get the bed to myself for a few hours!! Not really Katy is always in bed with me by that time, but you know what I mean.

4. I just started this whole Baby Splendor thing. It is my first time at trying out a party type product sales, but anything to help the family out right??

5. I am a huge fan of Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books. There is a movie coming out on Dec. 12th and I already have it on the calendar!! I can't wait and I look for anything about production on it every day! I really want to load up the kids in the car and head for Oregon to go see some of filming. No one would miss me or the kids right??

6. I have a secret passion for looking for deals on the computer! I swear that I scan Craigslist and KSL Classified Ads all day every day. You never know what will be on there or where.

7. I love to talk on the phone! The winner for this last month was Emily. I talked to her 3 minutes for every 1 minute that I talked to Steve on the phone. Can you tell that we haven't seen each other for almost 2 years!!!

8. I love my new house even though it seems like everything is breaking down. I so know now that the people that fixed up this house didn't know what they were doing at all and there are so many code violations that I am suprised that we haven't died yet!! So if I talk to you on a regular basis and you don't hear from me, make sure that some one comes to check up on my family!! I mean that!

9. I fear the terrible 2s that my kids all have to go through!! I hate that my kids yell louder than I do, learn to say "NO!!", and on top of it all you have to potty train strong willed children all at the same time. I would much rather do the whole first 6 weeks for ever than these lovely terrible twos. It makes me question my sanity and why I ever wanted children in the first place.

10. Me on the wild side. I never skinny dipped or snuck out at night, but I did Moon Melissa once!! (That is who tagged me last!!) I will never forget the look of shock on her face that night!!! It was a classic and one I will never forget!!

Mid Month Report!

Well I can't believe that it is the middle of the month already!! Where did the first 6 weeks of the year go?? I have been slacking off a little in the whole let's keep up on the blog, but I have been getting stuff put away and doing lots of laundry. It was a great day yesterday. I actually did 3 loads of laundry and folded all the other loads that were clean!! They even got put away too. Now that is a HUGE feat for me because I don't mind washing and drying clothes, but it's the folding and putting away that is my issue.

I have had a head ache and sore throat it seems like forever and I don't know why they won't go away. Well the head ache won't because it seems like Ruby has been screaming more than ever. I think we have finally moved into the "Let's YELL at Mom so she will do something for me" Stage. I hate this stage, so the last few days she has been spending lots of time in the corner or crying. I feel like I am her little servant and all that she wants me to meet every little need right then and there. Well I hate to tell her that she is in for a reality check because this momma doesn't play that game. screaming has been outlawed in my house!! I can't take it from Ruby any more. She can scream loud!!!

Katy turned 8 months old yesterday and I can't believe it!! She is getting around everywhere and her personality is really starting to blossom. She stands up by everything and can get where she wants. Now if we only could convince her to sleep in her own bed and that it is okay. Another tooth has popped through, so we are up to 3 on the teeth count!

Hannah has her Valentine's party at school today and she can't wait! They made valentine boxes on monday and she is looking forward to it getting filled up with valentines from her class. She has also started swim lessons and is loving every day that she gets to go! She is my little fish and asks every day when can she be on swim team and go to meets like Cody! I know that they have 6 and under so maybe before summer she will be my little fish and be able to do summer league swimming.

On a Side note: The 15 inch Beagle WON last night in New York at the Big Dog Show!! We are so excited that a beagle won!!! From NBC: They're calling him the "Regal Beagle"...say hello to Uno, this year's Best in Show selection at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. Uno became the first beagle to be top dog in the 132-year history of the Westminster show, and the first member of the hound group to win since 1939.

I didn't see it myself, but by all accounts, Uno was the rare dog who was a favorite of both the audience and the judge. David Frei said afterwards that it was the most enthusiastic crowd response he had ever seen in 19 years of covering the event on television.

So what happens now for Uno, the most famous beagle since Snoopy? First, it's a media blitz, along with the traditional visit to the famed New York restaurant Sardi's (where he will eat steak off of a silver platter), and he may even ring the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange on Friday.

Oh I did go and pick out fabric and a pattern for the girls Easter dresses! I can't wait to pull out the sewing machine and get going on their dresses. I am doing the dress that is on the pattern cover that is purple with while dots. The main fabric is the light blue with flowers and my contrast is the brown with blue dots. And if you are wondering...YES I am making a matching skirt!! I will just buy Steve a tie and a shirt to match. Well match the colors anyway.

I guess that is all from the home front!!

My baby is on the move!!

Well Katy is on the move so I thought that in honor of my baby moving and crawling like a champ already I would dedicate this entry to her!! I wonder how long it is going to take her to learn to walk. I am guessing that this will be my early walker. My guess is well before she turns a year old.
