It has been quite the month!

Well it really has been a month and I can't believe that it is almost over, but we have been busy around the town! Spring break was a little bit much for me and I needed a few days to recover from the week that it was for us. It was a long week since we had to be out of the house for so many hours during the day. The joys of having a husband that works from home. It makes me the appointed Activities Director for the girls.

We made visits to friends, ate out for lunch with a place that has a play ground, visited the park, went to gymnastics, adopted a pet, went to the vet together, visited Atlanta for a long day of fun (the zoo, Rita's, Ikea, and Kid2Kid), and so much more.

Monday was a visit with Evyn and her new baby! Ro-Ro loved "Handa" and to see a new baby is such a great thing! We then went to Old Navy for a few things and afterwards we went to the shelter to see the cat that we fell in love with on Saturday before. We decided to name him Cosmo. Yes that would be Cosmo after our Cosmo from BYU!
We found out that he was sick and I was so mad! No one knew that he was sick less than 48 hours after we saw him! We still could not get him out of the shelter and I hated to leave him. Runny nose, sneezing, and goopy eyes. I wanted to just take him away from there, but we could not since we had not been approved to adopt him yet. They will not let you take a pet out of the shelter until they have shots and in his case get neutered. All of us are in love with our kitty named Cosmo!
With tears in my eyes, I take the kids off to gymnastics for the day. Finally we make it home after 6:30 that night. One day was done.

Tuesday started out a little better, but eventually I had to leave the house early because my most quiet child Ruby was so good. **Anyone that really knows Ruby she isn't quiet at all** So off we go a few hours early for gymnastics. It took a lot not to go and see how Cosmo was doing but I wanted to make sure that we were going to have a chance to get him home with us.
Everyone had their class that night at the gym, so it was a really late night for us girls to get home.

Wednesday was an awesome day. It was a day that I knew we would be gone a really long time since it is a little bit of a drive there and home. I can say that it was the easiest morning to get the girls up and ready to go. We were all ready to go and in the car before 7:30 am! I got lots of snacks for the girls during the day at the zoo in Atlanta so we didn't have to buy anything when we were there.

Steve told me to just go ahead and get the family pass to the zoo since we plan on going back a few times in the next year, so we did. I got the information all filled out at the first window and then we had to go to another window to get our tickets for the rides at the other one.

**Thank goodness for autosave! My screen just crashed and I was going to cry if I had to tyoe it all out again!**

My Facebook status update says it all about what happened next at the other window:
Best part of my day?? When we were getting tickets at the zoo and Ruby notices the lady has some really long fake nails (we are talking over 3 inches here) and she tells the lady "Lady you need to cut your nails!" **I thought I was going to die!** but then the lady replies "Well girl I just got them cut yesterday." Oh my very blunt and truthful Ruby. I love you girl!

The zoo was great and we had lots of fun! We got to see lots of fun things. They have a new panda named Po. Yes, Jack Black named him after Po in Kung Fu Panda. And the crazy thing is that he looks like Po in the movie too!!
Katy only had a minor break down right at the end, but in all the kids did great and had a great time at the zoo. I can't wait to go again! We should be going next month and by then all the big cat homes should be done by then too. Here are a few pictures from our day.

After the zoo it was off to find the Rita's! Now I haven't had a Rita's since we left Philly so it has been a very long time. YES we had dessert before we had lunch and it was sooooo good!! Heaven in a cup that is what I call it. They didn't even have my favorite flavor but that was fine. The whole idea that I had a Rita's in my hand I was in heaven! Total yummyness! **I don't even think that is a word, but that is what it was!"

After our trip to Rita's we were off to our favorite place in the world. That big blue building that you can't miss. It was something else that we found in Philly and cheered when we heard that we were getting one in Salt Lake. What else but IKEA!!!

I had a great day there! I got a family parking place right in front, the girls got watched for 45 minutes for FREE, we all ate lunch *meatballs and taters*, and I even found a great entertainment center that I wanna go back and get soon. I was getting those girls tired even if they didn't want too!!
See there is another slice of heaven! What a great lunch and it took a lot of self control not to pick up my plate and lick it clean. The little joys of life mean so much to me!

What else would top off our day but stopping at Kid2Kid on the way home. I did find a few good things for the girls for summer and then it was on our way home to conclude our long 13 hour day away from home.

Thursday I thought that my loud child had learned that she needed to be quiet while her Daddy was on the phone but it was not so! We were headed out of the house well before 11 am! I was fed up by this time of being out of the house so much and not getting things done that I wanted to the week of spring break, so I took the kids down to Oxford's Burger King to play. They are the closest indoor play place and we stayed there for a few hours. We did make it to the mall after a long play time. I made the kids go to Sears with me to look around. Total score since their winter clearance prices were an extra 50% off! I spent only $50 and got over $200 worth of clothes for the kids for next winter. I was so excited!!

There is a new play place in the mall, so of course the girls needed to play again and they did for another hour! They seemed like they had a good time. We decided to go and see Cosmo again on our way to the gym. Little did I know it would make our afternoon super exciting!

We get to the shelter at 3:40 and go see if Cosmo is in his cage. Nope not there so we go ask in the office. The lady at the desk goes to ask the director and what does she say?!?! Cosmo is ready to go and we have 20 minutes to bring her back $50 so we can get him that night. So off I run back to the car to get the kids all in the van and get back to downtown Anniston and the bank. We were all watching the clock and praying that the lights would all be in our favor.

I pull back into the shelter parking lot at 3:58 and I hand Ruby the $60 in cash and tell her and Hannah to run in there before they lock the door. I get Katy out of the car with the cat carrier. We did make it and didn't have long to go.

Needless to say that we didn't get to go to gymnastics that night, but that is fine. We had our sick, but neutered baby at home. All was going well and fine.

Friday was finally here and I was so happy! Over joyed and we started it off with a trip to see Dr. Clanton with our sick Cosmo. I totally forgot the paperwork on him at home, so we left the cat at the doctor and ran home to get it. It was kinda nice since the kids were strapped in the car and the cat was getting seen. All I had to do was go back and pick him up with medicine of course and take all the kids back home.

Steve finally got done with work and I was free. We were free to enjoy the afternoon with the Dad of the house.

Well that is what we were up to last week. Last weekend and this weekend has and will be all about BYU Basketball and the Jimmer. It has been so much fun to see the team do well and get some respect that they deserve for playing so well. We are in the Sweet 16 and speaking of which I need to get going so I can watch the game.

Let's GO BYU and we are all cheering for our COUGARS down in New Orleans tonight! Isn't this sweet to see on the cover of SI?!?!?!
